Hi, I’m Laura Stein.
I’m excited to meet you!
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New York.
My approach is about defining what’s important to you and learning who you are so you can do what matters to you.
My Background & Training

Life transitions and identity formation in your 20’s-30’s
Family Systems Theory
LGBTQIA+/Queer identity.
Religion & Spirituality
I’m an ordained clergyperson in the Jewish religion with 2 years under my belt in a Ph.D. in the Psychology of Religion.
But, let’s get to the deeper stuff, shall we?
Therapy saved my life. I grew up searching for safety and finally found it.
MY STORY
Who knew it was possible to change your relationship to the past and rewrite your own story?
I felt so much gratitude for the people who partnered with me on my journey that I became a therapist to help others do the same.
While I have extensive training as a therapist and a toolkit of effective skills, I also draw on my training as a pastoral caregiver. When you develop your spiritual life and get clear on your values, you unlock your fullest potential.
I have a queer-oriented perspective on everything, which means I believe there is no “right” path when it comes to choosing any part of your journey. I don’t use a template to measure where you are in your development or how you compare to others. Together, we can set goals based on your vision for who you want to be.
Most of all, I believe in the power of the relationship between therapist and client.
What clients develop while working with me:
Healthier ways of looking at themselves, the world, and the past
Understanding their role in the systems they’re a part of so they can bring out that successful version of themselves that’s already inside of them
Acceptance, commitment, and being with discomfort in their lives while striving to create more peace and happiness
Working with me, we will make new meaning from your experiences. We will rework the narratives you’ve written to better serve the person you are today–and the person you’re growing into.
Ready to get started?
There’s no better day than today.
